she married James Leach Allen 1840, she was the oldest daughter of the late William Eaton, of Gill Township. Feb 19, 1897 Friday Sullivan Democrat. Aunt Louise Allen as she was lovingly known by all her friends and neighbors occurred this Thursday morning at 7 am. She has been in feeble health for many years, but not until the day before she died did her fmaily realize that the end was near. She was born in 1821, she was one of 10 children and lived in the old home just out of New Lebanon until her marriage to James Allen in 1840. Thirty-one years of her married life was spent on the farm near the home of her childhood and in 1876 she and her family moved to Sullivan and bought the home on Graysville Street where they have lived 26 years. They had 3 children, Mrs Ann (Bill) Wilkey, who lives in Sullivan, Mrs Bowles who died in Arkansas many years ago leaving a daughter Mrs Lutie Kelley with her mother and a daughter Alice who died in infancy. Mrs Allen was a sister to Mrs W.B. Miles, Mrs Elizabeth Allen, Mesha Eaton of Sullivan, Chas Eaton of Paxton, James Eaton of Paris, Ill; Tom Eaton of Washington D.C. and Dora Eaton of New Lebanon.
Mrs Allen has been a suffered from stomach trouble for thirty years and has been able only to move about her own home most of the time. Her sufferings have been greatly increased during the past winter she was not confined to her bed until the day before her death, when she became very ill and lost consciousness which she did not regain until a few minutes before the end.
She had been connected with the M.E, Church for many years and was a consistent consecreated christian woman. The funeral services will occur today Friday and interment will be made in Center Ridge cemetery.
