SAM DURBIN, DISTILLERY EMPLOYEE, DIES AT 53 - WALLACE RAY (SAM) DURBIN, 53, of Bardstown, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, May 24, at Flaget Memorial Hospital, after a several months illness. He was an employee of Heaven Hill Distillery. Surviving are his wife, the former Juanita Mattingly; four sons, Billy Ray, Stephen, Frankie and Kalvin Durbin, all of Bardstown; two daughters, Karen and Joy Durbin, at home; three grandchildren; six brothers, Raymond, Curtis, Edward, Marvin, Howard, Jr., and Walter Louis Durbin, all of Bardstown; two sisters, Dorothy Durbin and Evelyn Pryor of Bardstown. Funeral Mass was offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, at St. Gregory Church, Samuels, with interment in the church cemetery. A prayer service was conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Randall, Ronnie, Beau, Miles, Louis and Terry Durbin, Leon Harrell and Adrian Spalding.
