In 1842, Charles Croswell and his wife Rebecca Hobbs Croswell and their eight children, left England for Canada. Charles died in the mid-Atlantic, of cholera, and was buried at the Gross Ile Quarantine Station in Quebec. Rebecca later married George French (1796-1867), whose wife had died during the same voyage.
