Aged and Respected Lady Passes Away
Mrs. Martha Ann Adams of the southeastern part of this county, passed away at her home on Tuesday of last week. Mrs Adams was the widow of the late Mr. Bynum Adams and was 85 years of age. For seventy years she was a loyal and devoted member of the Fork Hill Baptist church and for the past 36 years she had been president of he Missionary Society of that church. A very large gathering, perhaps the largest ever assembled at Fork Hill, was present at the funeral services, which were conducted by Rev. T.A. Dabney at 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Adams will be greatly missed by her church and community for her influence was widely felt.
