OCALA, Fla. — Fred A. Krieg, 87, of Ocala, Fla., died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at his home. He was born Aug. 13, 1916, in Washington, D.C. He was a United States Army World War II veteran, serving in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was a retired lithographer and owner of Krieg-Taylor Lithograph Company of Hyattsville, Md. After selling his business, he and his wife retired to Ocala, Fla., in 1976. He was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church. His lifelong interest in automobiles led to the restorations of numerous Model T and Model A Fords. He was a fine metalworker and a good craftsman and he made many car, truck and horse drawn wagon models to the delight of his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Irene E. Krieg; son, Thomas Krieg and his wife, Laura, and their daughter, Chelsea Krieg of Milford; son, the Rev. Richard H. Krieg and his wife, Theresa, and their daughters, Bethany and Kaitlyn Krieg, of Surfside Beach, S.C. He was buried in the Florida National Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla., with full military honors.
