Lyndall was born at Penny Creek in Okaloosa County and was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee. She retired after 36 years of service with the State of Florida and she was the recipient of a Bronze Leaf Award for her service. She was a lifelong, faithful member of Freedom Church First Assembly of God, where she served as Sunday School secretary for 35 years.
She spent her entire life supporting and giving care and comfort to her family and many friends.
Survivors include three brothers, Rev. William G. "Billy" Ashburn (Joyce) of Torrington, CT, David C. Ashburn, Sr. (Helen) of Tallahassee and Robert C. Ashburn (Sandy), also of Tallahassee; and three sisters, Ethel A. Lambrecht of Tallahassee and Syble A. Daniel, both of Tallahassee and Lois A. Spiva of Panama City; and her devoted friend Reddick Langston of Smith Creek. Lyndall is also survived by more than 200 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Garland Levi and Willie Mable Courtney Ashburn; a brother G.C. Ashburn; and three sisters, Vernie A. Johnson, Flora A. Cooksey and Martha A. Shoemaker.
