Fern O. Thompson entered into the Lord's Hands on June 22, 1998. Her Dad, having a special sense of humor named her Lasty Fern. She was the last remaining member of this special Osburn family. Her dad, Jeremiah and brother, Jobie were both preachers of the Church of Christ. She was a member of the Ashley Rd. Baptist Church of Christ. She is survived by sons, Gilbert (Tommy), Charlie (CT), daughters, Ava Lee Turner and her husband, Gene, Judie Woodson and her husband, Woody, Linda Luce and her husband Jimmy; 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Visitation will begin 5:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 1998. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 26, 1998, at 11:30 a.m. Graveside services will be held at San Fernando Cemetery where she will be buried with her husband, George W. Thompson, who passed away on September 23, 1957. Fern will always be remembered for her Will to survive, the special love she had for her family and all of God's Creatures. We Love You Mama. Your special smile and sense of humor will always be in our hearts. Arrangements are with Mission Park, 1700 SE Military Dr., 924-4242.
