Born Sept. 9, 1918 in Bedford County, he was the son of the late Eardley William Haithcote & Lula Emma Hasty Haithcote and was preceded in death by a son Ronnie Haithcote. He was a veteran of W.W.II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp, was a retired U.S. Postal Service mail carrier with 28 years of service and a member of the Church of Christ at Flat Creek.
Survivors; his wife of 67 years Dorothy Jane Campbell Haithcote Son, Joel & wife Kathy Haithcote of Shelbyville Grandchildren; Leanne Haithcote Waits of Thompson's Station Mitzi & husband Wade Crick of Shelbyville Mark & wife April Haithcote of Unionville Julie Kay & husband Marc Cartwright of Shelbyville Joel Haithcote II of Shelbyville 7 great-grandchildren
