Thelma Lee Austin, 91 of Chattanooga, Tenn. formerly of Sparta, Tenn., died on Monday, March 1, 2010.

Thelma was a member of East Brainerd Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Argo Austin; parents, Billy and Cleo Seals; two sisters and seven brothers.

Survivors and caregivers include, Harold (Joyce) Austin, Melanie (Steve) Kempson and their son, Levi; sister-in-law, Margaret Gribble; two very special elementary school friends, Mary Elizabeth Turner and Ruby Rowland and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at noon Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Highland Cemetery in Sparta, Tenn., with Richard Harris officiating.

The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and caregivers at Erlanger North Hospital. A very special thanks to all the nursing staff on the 3rd floor at The Health Center at Standifer Place, Dalton Building and Hospice of Chattanooga.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, March 2, 2010 at Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN.
