Graveside services are scheduled for Louise Canant, 87 at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Rose Hill Cemetery; Pastor Byron Howard of Central Baptist Church in Lindale will officiate.
Services under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.

Louise passed away Tuesday in Arlington, TX.

She was born January 23, 1922 in Tyler, to the late Louis and Lillie Garrison. She graduated from Tyler High School in 1939 and attended L.S.U. on a music scholarship. She taught piano and organ, played piano for the choirs at Hogg and Roberts Jr. Highs and served as the organist at Walter Fair Methodist Church. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Tyler.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband , Bill Canant, and a son Rick Canant.

She is survived by her sister Mary Alice Lacey of Eatonton, GA; a daughter, Carol Canant Smith and her husband Ken Smith of Mansfield; son, Robert Canant and wife Alma of El Paso; and son, Mike Canant and wife Peggi of Tyler.

She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
