Mrs. Murray was born May 9, 1928 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Layton V and Vivian P Turner Fox. She married Joseph C. Murray on November 30, 1947 in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death in March 9, 2000.
Mrs. Murray was employed with Area Education Agency #16 as a teacher's aid at Summittville School. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church. She loved horses and really enjoyed visiting several different Kentucky Horse Farms many times. She cherished the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons: Jeffrey A. Murray and his wife, Marilyn, of Corpus Christy, Texas; David L. Murray and his wife Teresa of Keokuk, Iowa; cousin: Jennie Ricker, of Keokuk, Iowa; five grandchildren: Mark Murray and his wife Melissa; Melissa Palmer and her husband Cory; Melanie Murray; Andrew Murray and Andrea Murray; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Timothy on March 12, 1979, twin daughters and one great grandson, Colby Palmer.
A Memorial service was held Thursday, March 19, 2009, at DeJong's Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Burton officiating.
A private family burial was held Friday, March 20, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Park.
