Wellford, SC - Saturday, Jan. 8, 1944 - Noah Hammett, died at 4:55 o'clock this afternoon at a Spartanburg hospital following an illness of two weeks. Lifelong resident of the Friendship Baptist Church Community of Spartanburg County, SC and had been a member of the Friendship Baptist Church since a young man. Son of John and Eliza Duncan Hammett. At the time of his death, he was a employee of the Pacific Mills at Lyman, SC. Survivors included: his wife, Mrs. Annie Mae Pruitt Hammett; one son, Louis Dean Hammett of Wellford, SC, Route 2; three brothers, R. L. Hammett of Campobello, SC Route 2, T. J. and S. B. Hammett of Wellford, SC; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Belcher of Campobello, SC, Route 2, Mrs. Emma Sherbert and Mrs. Leland Pack of Wellford, SC, Route 2. He was 31 years of age at demise and interment was in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
