Daniel "Buffalo" Alaniz passed away Monday evening, October 29, 2007, at a local hospital surrounded by loving family and friends. Daniel fought a valiant battle against Diabetes for many years. He was born September 20, 1956, to Gregorio and Sara (Montelongo) Alaniz in Edcouch, Texas. He was a well known, cart maintenance, and grounds keeper at Goose Creek County Club for more than 20 years. He enjoyed barbequing, attending turkey shoot competitions for the local VFW, and spending time with his close friends and family at "Cowboy's". He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. At Daniel's request, the family wishes to have a personal gathering for him at a later date.

Daniel is preceded in death by both his parents, one sister Gloria Alaniz, two infant brothers, one sister-in-law, and one infant nephew. He is survived by his brother, Joe Alaniz, and sisters, Minerva Ramos and husband Jose, Odilia Ramos and husband George all from Alabama, and Julie Martinez and husband Richard of Baytown, and numerous nieces and nephews.

His family wishes to express deep appreciation to the many understanding Doctors and caring Nurses of San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, and also to the professional and supportive members of Crespo and Jirrels, for extending such a smooth transition into God's hands. You all will be in our prayers for your blessed care.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crespo & Jirrels Funeral and Cremation Services, 6123 Garth Rd, Baytown, Texas 77521, 281-839-0700.
