Marian Almasie

A natural burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at the Almasie property in Deadwood for Marian Elinore Almasie of Deadwood, who died Feb. 21 of age-related causes. She was 82.

She was born Sept. 2, 1927, in Lacrosse, Wisc., to Joseph and Ruby Straight Mueller. She married Robert Gordon Almasie July 25, 1950, in Greenleaf, Ore.

She attended art classes at Lane Community College. She started her career as a commercial artist painting store windows, and became a fine artist, working in water colors, pencil, acrylic and oils.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Laurasue Bransom of Central Point; three sons, Larry of Rice Hill, Robert of Tucson, Ariz., and Michael of Greenleaf; a sister, Joanne Mueller of Idaho; a brother, Don Mueller of Texas; and nine [10] grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A son, John Stephen Almasie, died at birth.
