Erma V. Adams, 91, of Seminole, died early Thursday morning, Dec. 28, 2006 at the Clarion Hospital, following a brief illness.

Born April 21, 1915 in Climax, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Annie Blakney Criswell. She was the last of 12 children.

Mrs. Adams had worked as a custodian at the Redbank Valley High School for over 30 years. She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in New Bethlehem and was a member of the church Rosary Society.

She married Herbert F. Adams, who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1972.

Mrs. Adams is survived by two sons, Larry "Lum" Adams and his wife, Barbara, of New Bethlehem and John D. Adams and his wife, Sandy, of New Bethlehem; one daughter, Betty Lou "Becky" Bish and her husband, Jim, of Seminole; 10 grandchildren, Cindy Carrier, Jeff Stepulla, Wendy Buzzard, Kevin Adams, Kyle Adams, Tawna Shumaker, Ryan Bish, Heidi Bish, John Adams Jr. and Angie Conklin, and 20 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Stepulla, in 1985. Also preceding her were brothers and sisters, Bob Criswell, Chuck Criswell, Frank Criswell, Mary Bowser, Mable Doverspike, Tunner Panciera, Marge Sukle, Pose Bailey, Josephine Kinkada, Nellie Criswell and Jean Walker.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Rupert Funeral Home in New Bethlehem. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Charles Catholic Church with the Rev. William Laska officiating.

Interment will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Distant, Armstrong County
