Guy F. Wiolfkill Dr, Guy F. Wolfkill, 97, died Sunday afternoon at the Pine Breeze Nursing Home in Angwin following an extended illness.

A native of Thayer County, Neb., he moved with his family to Seattle at the age of one year. He attended schools in Seattle and Bellingham through the 8th grade, then attended academy at College place, Wash. He graduated as class president in 1904 from Walla Walla College, receiving a degree in science and mathematics.

He did graduate work at Whitman College at College Place and in the fall of 1904 moved to Union, Ore., where he was principal of the Seventh-day Adventist Church School for two years.

In 1906 he returned to College Place and married the former Lydia Kime. He taught mathematics and biology at Walla Walla College for one year, then he and his wife moved to Mt. Vernon, Wash., where he was principal of Forest Home Academy until 1910.

From 1910-1913 Dr. Wolfkill was chairman of the department of education at Walla Walla College and from 1913-1914 he served as Superintendent of the California Conference Association of Seventh-day Adventists.

In 1914 they moved to Angwin and he taught biology and chemistry at Pacific Union College for six years. From 1921-1925 he taught science at Washington Mission College in Maryland and at Union College in Nebraska.

From 1925-1930 he was president of Emmanuel Missionary College, Lincoln, Neb.

During that time he changed his emphasis from physical science to education and received a master's degree in that field from the University of Nebraska. He returned to California and in 1933 received his doctorate degree in education from the University of California, Berkeley, and began two decades of professorship at P.U.C.

In 1949 he received emeritus status at P.U.C. but continued teaching to complete over 50 years in education. After retirement he worked for a time as tax assessor for Napa County. His wife, Lydia, died in 1967.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews, including his niece, Mona Moors of Bow, Wash., and nephew, Louis Wolfkill of Martinez.

Graveside Services were held Wednesday at the St. Helena Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral. Chapel of St. Helena.
