Obit:
Mrs. Nonie Schaurer

Mrs. Nonie Schaurer, a long time, well known and popular resident of Slater, died at the Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, Tuesday morning, February 15, 1938, at the age of 61 years, 5 months, and 15 days.

Some three weeks ago, Mrs. Schaurer suffered a fall in which she sustained severe internal injuries, and she was later taken to the hospital where, on account of continued pain, an operation was deemed necessary, and was performed Monday morning, and while the operation was successful, complications developed as a result of previous complaints and caused her death.

Mrs. Schaurer was born near Moberly, MO., but she had spent her greater part of her life in Slater and vicinity. Her maiden name was Nonie Stone, and she was united in marriage to John Schaurer about forty years ago.

Mr. Schaurer passed away in June 1935, and the immediate relatives left to mourn her loss are an adopted son, Jesse, of Kansas City, two step-daughters, Mrs. Frances Jackson, of Kansas City, and Mrs. Cora Warren of Los Angeles, California, besides three sisters, Mrs. J.W. Goodman of Helena, Arkansas, Mrs. A.W. Dilgert of Atchinson, Kansas, and Mrs. T.B. Penick of Elkton, Kentucky. Word has been received that the two latter sisters and the Kansas City relatives will be here for the funeral services which will be held at the Hill Brothers Chapel this Thursday afternoon, at 2 o'clock with interment being made in the Slater City Cemetery.

The deceased was a sincere Christian woman who was universally beloved by all who knew her and the many old time friends are saddened at her death.
