JOSEPH MATHEW SMITH, passed away last night at 8:30 p.m. at the St. Francis Hospital here where he had entered Sunday. Funeral services are to be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m., will be under the direction of Rev. John Gordon. Burial will be in the Bushnell Cemetery. Rosary is scheduled for tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. at the Kugler Funeral Home in Bushnell. The deceased was born the son of John and Delphanie (Molohon) Smith on September 22, 1855, in Springfield, Ky. His wife, the former Elizabeth McIntyre (s/b Adams), passed away several years ago. Mr. Smith was a farmer in Kentucky most of his life. He moved to Illinois 18 years ago and lived in the Bushnell community most of the time since then. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Effie Carrico, of Bushnell; Mrs. Wallace Carrico of Roseville; and Sister Mary Raymond of Louisville, Ky. A son, Joseph Leo of Hanna City, IL. preceded his father in death by five days. Friends may call at the funeral home until the hour of service.
