MACOMB DAILY JOURNAL OBITUARY - 1944
Funeral services for Francis Ivo Carrico, who died suddenly on November 20, were held Wedneday afternoon, November 22, in the Kugler Funeral Home in Bushnell with with Rev. Father Gordon of St. Bernard's Church officiating. Casket bearers were Sumner Curtis, Tom Morrison, Marvin Koller, Earl G. Evans, Max Bond, and Beryl Aten. Mrs. William Farr and Mrs. Max Sanderson were in charge of the many floral tributes. Mr. Carrico was stricken while assisting his brother, J.B. Carrico in shelling corn on the William Gibb farm north of Swan Creek. Francis Ivo Carrico was born in Raywick, Kentucky on September 25, 1909, the son of Arthur F. and Effie Smith Carrico. When a small child he moved with his parents to the Youngstown community where he attended school and grew to manhood. He was never married. For the past several years he, with his father, had operated the Paul Kidder farm one mile south of Youngstown. Besides the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Carrico, the following brothers and sisters survive: J.B. Carrico and Mrs. Hallie Finch of near Roseville; Hugh Carrico of near Monmouth; Mrs. Della McCleary of Waterloo, Iowa; and Mallie, Agnes, Bernie Millie, and Junior at home. His grandfather, Joe Smith, who lives in the Carrico home, also survives.
