James Roy Vickers of Abilene, Texas, age 49, a former resident here, died at the hospital in Santa Anna, Texas, Saturday. He was born at Petersburg, Kentucky but came to the Ryan community with his parents when he was six years old. He grew up in Ryan and married Miss CALLIE CAPPS. To them were born five children, one dying in infancy.

Surviving are AVA, ARVILL, PAULINE, and CAROL, and some grandchildren. There are three sisters, Mrs. A G. COLLINS of this community, Mrs. BOYD KIMMEL and Mrs. EARL HOLCOMBE both of Fort Worth; and brothers WILLIE, CORDELL, and JOHN of El Reno and DON of Anadarko. All their children with their mother were present at his death. Mr. Vickers was a barber in Abilene for years with a fine business. He was taken ill recently with a kidney ailment and went to the family physician at Santa Anna for treatment. Funeral services were held Sunday at Abilene and interment was there.
