Samuel C. Osborne, a member of the staff of the Carrier Corporation, died early yesterday morning in Cleveland, O., where he and his family spent the Thanksgiving holiday. The Osbornes made their home at 200 Rugby rd. here. Mr. Osborne and his wife went to Cleveland last week to spend the holiday with Mrs. Osborne's mother, Mrs. Charles Little. They were joined there by their two daughters, Mary Jane and Nan Osborne, both students at Ohio Wesleyan University. Stricken late Saturday afternoon with what was at first believed to be a heart attack, Mr. Osborne was admitted to a Cleveland hospital where his death later was attributed to a ruptured pancreas. Active in civic affairs, he was immediate past president of the Exchange Club and in preparation for celebration of Syracuse's Centennial, had directed the compilation of a complete history of Syracuse industries for the Technology Club. Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Dorothy L. Osborne, and their daughters, are his mother, Mrs. Blanche V. Osborne of Philadelphia, Pa.; two brothers, Col. Hugh Osborne of Freeville and Paul V. Osborne of Ardmore, Pa, and a sister, Mrs. Louise O. King of Crescent City, Fla. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Park Central Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Arthur W. Mielke will officiate.
