Monrovia - Jennifer Desiree Abila, a native of Monterey, passed away December 30 at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia following a long illness.

Since graduating from Monterey High School, Class of 1997, she had made her home in Southern California.

Jennifer loved animals and working on her computer. Since the birth of her son, Aaden, four months ago, she had particularly enjoyed creating photo albums of him and her family.

In addition to her son, she is survived by her companion, Leo Gomez, of Monrovia; her parents, Linda Vaughan of Seaside and Alfredo (Teresita) Abila of Baldwin Park; her siblings, Fred (Jennifer) of Seattle, Eddie (Cynthia) of Roseville, Christina Abila of Fresno and Daissie Rubiano of Baldwin Park; her grandfather, Ulpiano "Joe" Abila; her aunts and uncles, Bill (Donna) Vaughan, Susan (Roy) Lozada, Rudy (Chris) Abila, Judy (Art) Snow and Alice Abila; her nephews, Connor and Eddie, Jr. and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Sinforosa Abila and Nadine Vaughan and her uncles, Arthur Abila and Wendell Vaughan.

Visitation will take place at The Paul Mortuary tomorrow, January 6 from 4-7 PM. A Celebration of Jennifer's Life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Monterey on Thursday, January 7 at 9:30 AM, followed by burial at San Carlos Cemetery.
