Arthur Day Gunter was born to William Hawley Gunter and Ida Lea (Shortt) Gunter, Oct. 12, 1911 at Coe Hill, Wollaston Twp., Hastings Co., Ontario. He came to Montana where his parents lived and in 1930 he was resident in Neilsen, Phillips, Montana.
In 1935 he married Helen Miller and they had three children, the third was named Arthur Day Gunter. The names of the other two will be added later when they are verified.
Arthur and Helen were divorced after 1944. Arthur died on March 4, 1984 at Great Falls Montana and was buried in the Highland Cemetery, Great Falls, Cascade County, Montana.

His Gunter relatives and friends in the Hillandale District near Val Marie Sask. called him 'Little Art' and Arthur 'Art' Gunter at Hillandale was known as 'Big Art', although he was only about 5' 6" and not that heavy. (This was my own Father - FG). Would seem that 'Little Art' was of small stature, more research needed on that. Arthur's son Arthur Day "Butch" Gunter moved to Blissfield, Lenawee County, Michigan and I will be entering his bio and grave stone photo in the Pleasant View Cemetery at that location, possibly a personal photo but what I now have is rather poor quality.
