James Lane "Toots" Leach, 83, of Foust Ave., died February 25, 1998, at High Point Regional Hospital after a week of hospitalization. He was born February 13, 1915, in Randolph County, a son of James Addison and Eula Parrish Leach. He retired from Carolina Container after 43 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and was married to Lora Whitley Leach, who died August 29, 1986. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Peggy Johnson and her husband, Ralph, or Archdale; one grand-daughter, Ms. Joyce Lane Johnson of Archdale, one nephew, Robert Leach and his wife, Marie, of Winston-Salem; one niece, Mrs. Dorothy Wall and her husband, Roy, of McLeansville; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Graveside services will be at 2 o'clock Friday in Floral Garden Park Cemetery by the Rev. Stuart White.
