ALICE BURNETTE
Alice Gay Pitt Burnette, 89, died Saturday, March 17, 2007.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Caroll Bradberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Wombles Family Cemetery near Temperance Hall.

Burnette is survived by her daughters, Polly Edmondson of Pinetops, Ellen Morris of Crisp and Carolyn Baker of the St. Lewis community; son, Johnny Pitt of St. Lewis; stepdaughter, Patricia Burnette of Richmond, Va.; stepson, Keith Burnette of Richmond, Va.; sister, Peggy Causway of Pinetops; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Flowers are welcome or memorial gifts may be made to Peace Free Will Baptist Church in Pinetops.

The family will received friends 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Carlisle Funeral home and will receive them at other times at the home of Carolyn Baker in Macclesfield.

Funeral arrangements are by Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro.

Personal Note: As a youth Alice was raised by Charles David and Willie Ann Womble in the Old Horne House on Wood Duck Rd, Elm City, NC. This House has been torn down.
