Billie Mae Ables passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at her residence.
Service: 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors, 523 S. Main St., Grapevine. Interment: Medlin Cemetery, Trophy Club. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Billie was born on July 25, 1934, in Fort Worth to W.T. "Bill" and Ruth Medford Sharpless, who preceded her in death. She retired after 25 years with the Tarrant County Clerk's Office. Billie was the president of the Medlin Cemetery Association, which her family founded over 100 years ago.
Billie was preceded in death by a son, Kent Thompson, and was the widow of M.M. Thompson and Gene Ables.
Survivors: Son, Cody Thompson of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Courtney Warden and Christa Broadie; and great-grandchildren, Madison Warden, Hadley Warden, Brock K. Broadie and Ava Broadie.
