POOLE
Ralph F. Poole, son of Frank and Susan Bangston Poole, was born at Marshalltown, Iowa, on April 2, 1928, and died at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital on Sunday, August 11, 1974, after a long illness with cancer. He had attained the age of 46 years, 4 months and 9 days.
Ralph served three years with the armed forces after which he resided in Des Moines. He attended American Tech School, where he learned refrigeration and air-conditioning.
On June 30, 1950, he was united in marriage to Wilma Wolett of Derby. They moved to Oakland, Calif. in 1950, where he was associated with the Maytag Company. Two children were born to them: Becky and Jeffrey.
The family remained in California until 1958 when they returned to Des Moines, and in 1959, moved to Derby where they have since made their home.
Ralph has been associated with the Hudson Home Appliance of Des Moines for the past fifteen years. In January, 1972, he purchased the Service Department at Hudson's.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank in 1964.
Surivors include his wife, Wilma of Derby; one daughter, Becky of Des Moines; and son Jeffrey at home; his mother, Susan Poole of Des Moines; two brothers, Verne of Des Moines and Ed of Indianapolis, Ind.; many other relatives, friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Jim Nelson at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 14, at the Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Derby Cemetery.
