STANFORD — Emmett Lee Maggard of Stanford died Thursday, Dec. 10, at University of Kentucky Medical Center.

A native of Cincinnati, he was a son of the late Dessie and Emmett Maggard of Crab Orchard. Lee was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had enjoyed careers in law enforcement, insurance, farming and real estate.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Mullins; a sister, Sherry (Jack) Stoeke of Taylor Mill; a brother, Lonnie (Sharmae) Maggard of Stanford; an aunt, Fay Barnes of Eaton, Ohio; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Hellen Reynolds.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at Spurlin Funeral Home.
