Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late George Wesley and Margaret Jane Bruce Stewart.
She lived in West Chester since 1992. Prior to that, she resided in Bridgeville, Del., for 12 years, and prior to that, in the West Chester area.
She was a 1939 graduate of West Chester High School. She was employed as an office assistant by the Chester County Credit Bureau, West Chester, where she did office and secretarial work. Prior to that, she worked at Montgomery Ward and Memorial Hospital, both in West Chester.
She enjoyed needlework and playing bingo.
Catherine is survived by three sisters, Marie Ivey, Helen Seiple and Emily Broadbelt, all of West Chester; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Willoughby and Betty Forwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, at the Founds Funeral Home Inc., High and Union streets, West Chester, 610-696-0134, www.foundsfuneralhome.com, where family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Green Mount Cemetery, West Goshen Township.
