Weaverville - William Alfred Bradley, 100, of 167 Sugar Cove Road, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003.
He was the son of the late John Alexander and Harriett Lewis Bradley.
Rev. Bradley was retired from Gordan's Furniture and was one of the founders of Mt. Sheba Baptist Church, which was established in 1935. He preached the gospel of the Lord for 77 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, who died in 1996; two daughters, Rachel and Catherine; son, Ray; two sisters; and six brothers.
He is survived by four sons, James of Jacksonville, Fla., Richard of Bolivia and Bill and L.D., both of Weaverville; two daughters, Margie Robinson of Brysville, Fla., and Lucille Bradley of the home; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Sheba Baptist Church, Weaverville, with the Revs. Steve Rhinehart and Charles English officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the home.
