Dax Locke, the two-year-boy from Washington, who has been battling leukemia for most of his life, has sadly passed away this morning at the Children's Hospital of Illinois in Peoria. He died at 2:15am with his family at the hospital.
Dax's story was featured on many different news outlets and his story inspired the 'decorate for Dax' cause, after his family brought him home for Halloween and decorated their house inside and out for him. Neighbors started doing the same and many people decorated their houses with 'DAX' in bright lights. His parents would take him around the neighborhood when he was feeling ok to see all the lights decorated for him.
Public Visitation will be Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 1420 North Main Street, Washington, Illinois.
Semi-Private Funeral Service (Close friends and family only, please) will be Monday, January 4, 2010 at 10:00 am at Crossroads United Methodist Church.
The Lockes request that you make memorial contributions in Dax's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the St. Jude banner link below.
