Edward W. D'Angelo, 79, passed away December 22, 2009, surrounded by family. He was born May 17, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1947, attaining the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (CWO4) before retirement, in 1981. He worked as an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in New York City, NY, for forty years. In 1989, he moved to Jacksonville, FL. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, American Legion Post 316 and the Knights of Columbus. Family members include his wife of 50 years, Dolores; sons, Michael (Lorraine) D'Angelo, Edward 'Joe' (Laurie) D'Angelo and James (Mara) D'Angelo; daughters, Catherine (George) Mazur and Dolores D'Angelo, and 13 grandchildren. He is predeceased by 3 siblings. A visitation will be held from 5-8pm, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach. Funeral service will be held at 10am, Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Jacksonville Beach. Private interment will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
