Georgia Mae McCartha Cannon, born September 14, 1920, in Chapin, SC, to John Haskell McCartha and Viola Cumalander McCartha, died Saturday, May 8, 1993, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the widow of the late Loy Ellis Cannon, Sr.
Mrs. Cannon was a retired employee of Mepco Electric (formerly General Electric) and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Chapin.
Surviving were a daughter, Judith (Larry) Frick of Chapin; sons, L. Ellis, Jr. (Faye), and Larry (Kathy) Cannon, all of Chapin; a sister, Mildred Rice of Gilbert; a brother, Vernon McCartha of Chapin; six grandchildren, Donna F. Huffstetler, Stanley Frick, Linda Cannon Smith, Jon Cannon, Ricky Cannon and Eddie Cannon; and seven great-grandchildren, Jessica, Zach and Kelsey Huffstetler, Heather and Stacy Frick, Ashley Smith, and Cindy Cannon. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Hugh McCartha and J.B. McCartha; and a sister, Ethel M. Addy Shealy.
Funeral Services: 5:00 p.m., Monday, May 11, 1993, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Chapin, SC, officiated by the Rev. Robert H. Thompson III, followed by burial the church cemetery.
