I was just working on Clara in my family tree and was glad I found your memorial, finally able to fit all the pieces together.
Here is what I have on Clara. She was born in New York in Erie County.
In the 1870 Federal census, her and her parents, George Hammond and Catherine Weaver Hammond, were living in Buffalo. She was their only child as far as I can tell.
In the 1875 New York State census Clara and her mother Catherine Weaver Hammond were living with Catherine's parents and her siblings in Buffalo. Assuming her father had passed by then?
It appears that Clara married James Henry Miller about 1881, probably in Ohio but haven't been able to find any record of marriage.
James Henry Miller was born in 1849 in Hillsdale Michigan to John C. Miller and Catherine Ann Knaggs.
In the 1900 census James and Clara are living in Toledo with their 4 children: daughter Hebard Miller, daughter Catherine Miller, sons Donald John Miller and Garth H. Miller.
James Henry Miller died in 1909 in Toldeo, Ohio.
In 1922 Clara married Henry Murphy in Lucas County Ohio.
Next thing I can find is that in the 1930 census, Clara was living in Miami Florida and was listed as a widow. She moved back to Ohio by 1935.
