Ethel was born December 8, 1915 on a farm in Powell, Wyoming, the oldest of three children of Anton Martin Olsen and Carla Alvida Johnson. The family then moved to Greybull, WY, where she graduated from high school.
On February 1, 1940, she married Lyle R. Willey in Greybull. Lyle and Ethel spent most of their married life in Casper, WY, moving to Orem in 1987 to be close to their grandchildren.
Ethel is survived by her daughter Renee (Robert) Fillerup of Orem, and their children Jared (Tracie) Fillerup of Highland, Melissa (Rob) Harding of Springville, Ben (Molly) Fillerup of Spanish Fork, Emily Fillerup and Amanda (Jordan) Hendricksen of Orem, and Kyler Fillerup of Provo, as well as fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Edith, her brother Buster, and a great-grandson Rhett Jared Fillerup.
Ethel was an accomplished pianist and organist, serving as a church organist for years. She had unbounded compassion for others, always putting their needs above her own. She had many talents, including some interesting collecting tendencies. She will be kindly remembered by her family and friends for her truly unique personality.
A viewing will be held on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the Heatheridge First Ward Chapel, 620 East Heather Road, Orem, Utah, The Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 p.m.
Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery, where she will be interred next to her husband Lyle.
