PEABODY WILMA K. Age 91, of Bloomfield Hills, died December 2, 2009, surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife to the late James Peabody and a fiercely committed mother to Nancy Peabody, Susan (Scott) Wortman and Barbara (Tony) Jerome and her eight grandchildren, Matthew, Kate, Jeff, Erik, Sarah, Kelsy, James and Adeline. Wilma was a graduate of Grace Hospital Nursing Program and a Captain in the Army Nurse Corps, serving in Italy and Africa in WWII. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, perseverance, selfless dedication to family and her commitment in helping establish Peabody's Market and later Peabody's Restaurant. Committal services will take place Friday, December 4th, 11a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Birmingham. Following the committal service, Mrs. Peabody's family invites friends to honor and celebrate her life at Peabody's Restaurant, 34965 Woodward Avenue, Birmingham, from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Angels' Place, 25240 Lahser Road, Suite 2, Southfield, Michigan 48033. condolences at lynchfuneraldirectors.com (Published in The Detroit News on Dec. 3, 2009)
