Ava graduated from the Kansas University School of Fine Arts un 1967, and took her master classes in Mexico City, Mexico. Ava was a retired school teacher for 12 years in Levenworth, Kansas area. She also owned and managed a bridal shop from 1962-1975 at Lawrence, Kansas. She also enjoyed genealogy.
