M. Josephine Hostetter, 93, formerly of Wellsville, died Friday, Feb. 26, at an Iola nursing home.
Miss Hostetter was a partner and bookkeeper at Hostetter Hardware, Wellsville, for 50 years before she retired in 1970.
She was born June 16, 1894, at Wellsville, the daughter of Albert D. and Grace Wingert Hostetter. She graduated from Wellsville High School in 1914 and from Ottawa University in 1918.
She was past president of the Ottawa Univ. Alumni Ass'n and an active member of Ottawa U. Women's Education Society.
She was the oldest living member of Wellsville Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Burean Sunday School Class. She was a former member of the Crescent Club at Wellsville.
Survivors include a brother, Lucky Hostetter, Ottawa; two sisters, Marjorie Ritchie, Rushville, Ind., and Kathryn Sauberli, Portland Ore.; and a foster daughter, Mary Lou Shannon, Humboldt.
