Funeral services for William Alexander Lyle Sr., 64, of Bay City, will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Haskell and James D. Sowell officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Van Vleck.
Mr. Lyle was born Sept. 16, 1920 to Samuel and Alma Renken Lyle in Ramsey Community, Texas, and died June 11, 1985 in Eagle Lake. He was a veteran of WW II where he served in the U. S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion and the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, Effie Ida Lyle of Bay City; his mother, Alma Lyle of Sweeny; a daughter, Lynel Boyd of Victoria; a son, James E. Lyle of Victoria; a sister, Inetha Hart of Houston; two brothers, Robert Lyle of Bay City and Samuel Lyle of San Antonio; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Phillip Walker, Manuel Anzaldua Jr., Joe Ledwig Jr., Gary Orsak, B. W. "Butch" Bevers and A. J. Barber. Honorary pallbearers include E. F. Hudson Sr., and employees of Marathon Oil. Arrangement are with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home, Bay City. The Daily Tribune 6/12/1985
