GIBBS—Dempsey Luther Gibbs, 73, of Bay City passed away Sunday afternoon at Matagorda General Hospital. Services were held Tuesday at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. W. D. Baker officiating. Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Park with Masonic Graveside services. Mr. Gibbs had been a Bay City resident for 29 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. Survivors include: his wife, Sophia Maxey Gibbs; 1 daughter, Mrs. James E. Craft of Austin; three sisters, Mrs. Sam Sheppard, Mrs. C. R. McBride both of Shreveport, La. And Mrs. W. M. Foster of Groves; 1 brother, Martin Gibbs of Minden, La.; two grandchildren. Services were under the direction of Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. The family requested that memorial be made to the First Baptist Church
