Kenneth William Beck Sr., 90, of Blairs Corners Road, Knox, died at 9:55 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at his residence following a lengthy illness. Born Nov. 12, 1910, in Sugar Grove, he was a son of the late Ernest and Mary Eckles Beck. Mr. Beck worked as a truck driver for 25 years for Bowser & Campbell Trucking and retired from Knox Glass Co. where he worked for 26 years. He was an avid trapper, hunter and fisherman. Mr. Beck was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Knox RD 2, Edenburg Lodge 550 F&AM of Knox, the Pennsylvania Trappers Association and the National Rifle Association. He was married to Gladys Gillespie, who survives. Survivors also include two daughters, Jane George and her husband, Harold, of Clintonville, and Fay Billings of Wellsville, N.Y.; three sons, Arthur Beck and his wife, Carol, of Knox, Kenneth W. Beck Jr. and his wife, Lois, of Lucerne Mines, and David Beck of San Antonio, Texas; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and three foster grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Katherine Westfall; a granddaughter, Billie Karen Kirkwood; and a great-granddaughter, Bethany Lyle. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the William N. Rupert Mortuary in Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Bernice Pippin officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarville Memorial Park, Strattanville. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Clarion-Forest Visiting Nurses Association Hospice, P.O. Box 668, Knox, 16232; St. Paul United Church of Christ, Knox RD 2; or a charity of one's choice.
