Mr. Bean was born in Lebanon and spent his early childhood years there and in Canaan. He was the son of the late Alfred H. and Elizabeth (Currier) Bean.
He moved to Pembroke in 1961 and was a self-employed contractor. Prior to that, he had been employed for Brezner Tanning in Penacook and Structures Unlimited in Bow.
Mr. Bean was a longtime Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 270 in Pembroke. An avid snowmobiler, his second home in Colebrook was a local stopover for any and all snowmobilers passing by.
Members of his family include his wife of 50 years, Harriet (Munn) Bean of Pembroke; three children, David Bean of Allenstown, Michael Bean of Sanbornton and Frances Bean of Candia; and four grandchildren, Jessica, Lindsey, Kirstie and Kendra.
