Reeves died November 7, 1982, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton.
Survivors include wife, Edwina Smith Reeves of Bay City; mother, Maggie O'Bannon of Old Ocean; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Gary W. Hales of Bay City; son, Jerry L. Reeves of Houston; sister, Lurline Pool of West Columbia; brothers, J. T. Reeves of Bay City and M. G. Reeves of Sweeny.
P.J. Reeves has been a resident of Bay City since 1952 and a veteran of WWII in the Navy.
Burial followed at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
Pallbearers included Frank, Joyce, Morris and Garland Richardson, James Sewell and Ernest (Bud) Sewell.
In Lieu of the usual donation, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
