Evelyn Colleen Moore was born April 26, 1928 in Muskogee, Ok to Albert Leon and Eva Evangeline (Floyd) Moore. She passed from this life in her home on November 18, 2009 at the age of 81. Colleen married Tom Gayland Duncan on August 30, 1945 in Okmulgee, Ok and celebrated 64 years of marriage. Mrs. Duncan was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church for 55 years. She graduated from Haskell High School in 1945 and received a Bachelors of Education degree in 1967 then went on to obtain her Masters degree. She taught at Liberty-Morris Elementary School and served as Principal before completing her teaching career at Okmulgee Elementary with a total of 22 years service. She was also an accomplished artist and loved to travel. Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Louis and Bob and sister, Jeanne. She is survived by husband: Tom Gayland, of the home, daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and James Morgan, Carol and Larry Atwell, son and daughter-in-law: John and Vickie Duncan all of Liberty-Morris, 11 grandchildren: Tommy, Jeff, Carrie, Angie, Sharon, Jennifer, Tina, Debra, Ronnie, Craig, and Kenny, 18 great-grandchildren, sisters: Aileen Tidwell of Haskell, Mary Carter of Lubbock, TX, brother: Russell Moore of Pasadena, TX, a large number of nieces, nephews, and a great host of friends.Grandsons Tommy Atwell, Ronnie Duncan, Jeff Atwell, Craig Duncan, Kenny Duncan and Steven Arnold will serve as Casket Bearers. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the Haskell Cemetery under the direction of Dowdy Funeral Home.
