Harold E. Blessing was born Oct. 24, 1917, the son of Guy and Margaret Byrn Blessing in Lancaster, Mo. He came to Marshall County at an early age with his family. He received his education in the St. Anthony School.

On June 21, 1953, he married Voleta Jackson at Rhodes where they lived a short time before moving to Garwin. They came to State Center in 1957 where they have since lived. Mr. Blessing was employed by the Fiscus Truck Lines.

He died early Wednesday morning at University Hospital in Iowa City, where he was taken following a car-truck accident Tuesday evening.

Surviving besides the widow, are two sons, Harold Wayne and Allen Lane, both at home, and his parents of Knoxville. Also a sister, Mrs. Jack (Evelyn) Lester, and a brother, Gerald Blessing, both of Des Moines.
