NATCHEZ - Services for Gladys Marie Vines, 78, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, in Natchez, were 10 a.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Bernard Waites and the Rev. Coleman Allmond officiating.

Burial followed at Roseland Cemetery, in Gloster.

Mrs. Vines was born Sept. 15, 1929, in Franklin County, the daughter of Daniel Clifton and Sarah Elizabeth Wallace. She was a member of 61 South Church of Christ. Mrs. Vines was an avid hunter and fisher, and was well known for her love of gardening, flowers and vegetables. She loved music and singing, and was well known for her caring and giving ways.

Mrs. Vines was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, L.T. Vines; four brothers, Everett Wallace, Woodrow Wallace, Jimmy Wallace and Linfield Wallace; and one sister, Beatrice Jones.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy Redd; one granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Redd; one sister, Louise Oglesby; and special friend Robert Fly.

Pallbearers will be Allen Hutchins, Grady Jones, Keyn Murray, Travis Murray, Dwight Swain and Wayne Wallace.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Fly, John Thorpe, Billy Boutwell and Allen Everhart.
