O'BRIEN, James Edward

James Edward O'Brien died at St. Olaf hospital Oct. 29, 1941 at the age of 57 years, after a lingering illness.

Mr. O'Brien was born April 4, 1884 in Mason City, Iowa, where he spent his youth. He later entered into train service of the Milwaukee and Great Western railroads, where he worked for a number of years as brakeman.

On Feb. 27, 1911 he was united in marriage to Anna Beers. He leaves to mourn his death his wife and three children, Timothy, Thomas and Alice O'Brien; one step-daughter, Mrs. C. L. Sheedy, also one brother, John O'Brien of Marquette, Iowa.

He was a lifetime member of the Catholic church.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 31, at Queen of Angels church with Rev. D. A. Cunningham and the Rev. Dan Corcoran officiating. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery.

Out of town people who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John O'Brien, Marquette, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Lester O'Brien, Prairie du Chien, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Eberhart, Guttenburg, Iowa, and Mrs. Edwin Sharpe, Evanston, Ill.
