Services for Frances Esther Keener, 60, of 6 Brucemont Circle, Asheville, who died Friday, will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
Dr. Steve Carreker and the Rev. John H. Knight will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she assisted her husband in the dental office. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and Training Union teacher.
She was valedictorian of her high school class at Biltmore School and was an honor student at Asheville Biltmore College.
She was the daughter of Julia M. Solesby Whitaker of Asheville and the late Joseph Grady Whitaker.
Surviving in addition to her mother, are her husband, Dr. Harold J. Keener; a daughter, Jennifer Esther Keener; a son, Jeffrey David Keener of Asheville; and two grandchildren.
