Josie was born to Charles and Sarah Pearl Weakley Karr on February 11, 1916 in Lowell, Cherokee County, Kansas, the 4th of 5 children. Josie grew up on a farm and worked right along side her Pa, life on the farm was not easy.

After marrying Josie and Charles moved to California in the late 1940's and lived for a long time, moving back to Kansas for a short time in the Middle 1950's then back to California moving permanently to Kansas in 1992.

Josie worked for a time in the 1940's at the Old Rock Distillery, (It is no longer there) and then at the Parsons Ammunition Plant. A seamstress for all her life, she made most of the families clothes for a lot of years, and even made clothing for the great-grandchildren

Josie & Charles went to every swap meet both in Saugus and surrounding area in the San Fernando Valley. Often taking family members along for the fun.

In addition to her parents and siblings, grandma was preceded in death by a daughter in law Janet Myers Hendryx and a son in law John Charles, SR
