US Army Air Force Aviation Cadet William M. Reid, Jr., of Asbury Park, New Jersey, was killed when his two-engine aircraft plunged to the ground in the early-morning hours of December 29th at Moody Field, near Valdosta, George. Killed with him was Royal Air Force Aviation Reserve Cadet Leslie Herbert Carter, age 19. Carter was buried in an RAF cemetery plot in Montgomery, Alabama.
